Architecture and cinema

The cinema always has been very linked to the architecture, It develops in spaces,  and the architect is the one who creates them, or somehow them  integrates to other elements of life. But intimately the architecture, his houses, cities and constructions have been in a direct way in the world of the celluloid across specific movies. There are  dedicated to the life of architects .Example : looking for Louis Khan , of 2003. Other one based on the famous North American architect Mies Van der Rohe - "Regular or Super " of 2004, and more, where architects and his works are the base of the plot, such are: "Playtime" (1967). " The Architect " (2006). " Ice Black " (2007), or the Argentine movie of 2010 " The man to the side " filmed in the Curtutchet House .

The only work constructed in America, designed by the father of the modern architecture Le Corbusier. In an indirect way, Infrastructures call: houses, hotels, jails, or complete cities have been principal protagonists of thousands features .Daniel Portilla speaks to us about three specific samples:

“Agora ”

Amenábar's tape shows in an eloquent way the architectural reality of the Rome in the 4th century. With impressive air captures it appreciates the city of Alexandria, with his particular beacon and the mythical Library, in his biggest epoch of the world, plundered and several times devastated. One of the worst losses for the architecture and the development of the scientific knowledge.

 “Chloe ”

 

All the passional messes of the movie develop in the city of Toronto, with excellent architectural scenes of bottom and especially in Drew Mandel Design's Ravine House.

 “City of ember  ”

In search of the light it is a movie that can be considered in the "infantile" category but whose subject matter and graph touch the world of the architecture and the urbanism of a dramatic form. The history is based on a species of dystopia, where it thinks that it will be impossible to continue with the cities on the planet, mainly for the problems of pollution, for what an underground city appears. A city that will last the sufficient thing until the conditions improve to be able to return to the surface.

Following with architecture and cinema inhabited, uninhabited, haunted , in litigation for divorces, with great holidays and party's , houses are a favorite topic of the scriptwriters to film Is pretty good occupation to remember some movies as " Weekend at Bernie's " of 1989, where a nice house of beach is a scene of a hilarious comedy

1990, is a classic. One terrible and healthy child Mcaulay Culkin, it was doing unimaginable pranks inside a house. It is an entertaining movie remembered by all.

“Cold creek manor ”

2003 with Sharon Stone and Dennis Quaid, the suspense takes possession of the scene concerning an old residence
.

“The lake´s house ”

" The house of the lake " of 2006 is an emblematic movie where the architecture plays a role

 

“Tomorrow never dies ”

1997. Pierce Brosnan jumps of the  Petronas, Towers designed of the Argentin Cesar Pelli in this time the highest buildings of the world
.

“Inception ”

Finally Inception 2010. Shows under the fiction science not only the construction and deconstrucción of dreams, if not also reals and futurist cities
